Summer Camp, August 2008 at Camp Rodney!!

Great week at Camp Rodney...Perfect Weather...Beautiful Location... No too many bugs (if you ignore the ticks and chiggers)....Great Job to the Boys who earned a total of 41 Merit Badges, 2 Specialty Badges and a Marbles Champ Crowned!

Soon we were setting up in our Lone Pine Campsite (I never saw a Pine...they should have named it "Sweet Gum Forest"!)

and ready to GO!

Each morning we'd start with a Flag Raising ceremony...

and a quick check of the weather rock (btw, it's a huge chunk of Hematite)...

and then off to Merit Badge activities ranging from a most excellent Nature Center...

to the pool (which had 3 deep ends)...

to a variety of other locations, including the bay, the ranges, to the craft shops....Great Fun, Great Learning...of course, the Scout Store was a favorite location too...

Each evening we held our own retreat before dinner...

and then back to the campfire and bed to do it all over again.....but eventually, it was time for one Final Retreat...

and a chance to share a meal with family...

before it was time to head for home...
